Bill Dabb was a master baker, then worked at M&B Chemainus Sawmill, and was also a volunteer fireman. He was also very active in the community. He was into horticulture as his father & grandfathers before him. He was also a Water Diviner & found many deep wells. Bill was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919. He started working in the Bakery after school in 1933, and upon graduation from High School had a job to go to (1938) and in a very short time became a full fledged baker & eventually ran the business following the owner's death in 1948. He left the bakery in early 1954 and went to work for M&B Chemainus Division and stayed til 1981 when he retired. In 1943 he met Cynthia Weaver nee Goodall in the Bakery. They eloped & got married in Port Alberni, B.C. Sept. 3, 1945 Had a grand start with a family of 4 from Cynthia's previous marriage: Joan Irene, Bev, & Leslie. Then they had 4 more children, Peter, Peggy (Margaret), Muriel & Norman. As of January 31, 2000, the scoreboard read 18 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren.
