Jeremiah lived at Hobsons-in-Dent (opposite Lea Yeat), where his 3 children were born. Later he lived at Rayside (inherited from father-in-law Anthony Mason), before moving to Darlington in 1825 at the age of 68. Following the death of his wife in 1832, Jeremiah returned to Dent, and lived with his son William Thistlewaite at Lea Yeat, where he died in 1838 at the age of 81.
