b about 1595, being as his wife was born in 1595.
Not sure where he was born. His wife was from Clapham, 15M S of Dent, but they married in Dent, not in Clapham, although they did move to Clapham to have their first 3 children, before moving to Dent for George b1634 and our ancestor William b1637.

He is named as 'uncle' Wilfred of Warescale/Scalegillfoot in will of James Burton d.1652 (son of Wilfred's brother George)

Will written at Warescale/Scalegillfoot, about 1M S of Stone House. The roads don't seem to be very developed at that time, and most probably it would have been necessary to go north from Clapham through Ingleton and Deepdale, then Dent, then go east along the valley to Stone House. Today there does seem to be a way SE from Scalegillfoot to Newby Head Gate, then SW towards Ingleton. So can't really understand why Wilfred was in Clapham or Dent or where he came from.
