Hannah Allen was born 4 May 1843 in Swanwick near Alfreton, Derbyshire. She married Richard Goodall in 1861, and they lived first in Somercotes (near Swanwick), then in Tibshelf, then in Newton. Following Richard's death in 1901, she married again, to Daniel Jaques, 11 December 1906. She died 5 January 1921 in Newton, and Samuel Goodall (son, b1878) was in attendance. She left a will with 2692 pounds, a lot of money for that time. The probate was granted to Joseph Goodall (her son, b 1868) and Samuel Andrew James Hill, the husband of her eldest daughter Sarah. She is buried in Blackwell churchyard, together with previous husband Richard Goodall. The inscription on the gravestone reads: "In loving memory of Richard Goodall of Newton, who died August 26, 1901, aged 63 years. Also Hannah, beloved wife of the above, who passed away January 5, 1921, aged 77 years. rest after weariness". Daniel Jaques died 22 January 1922, in Somercotes, aged 82.
