This is an error. It should read Elsie May Goodall, their granddaughter, the daughter of Thomas Goodall and Leah Whittle. Presumably Elsie May was staying with her grandparents. That is why there is no trace of an Elsie May Whittle in any birth or other records, Alfred and Tryphena had 10 children, 7 still living in 1911, when they are living at 121 Crescent Woodlands, Doncaster, Yorks.
