Thomas b 1639, baptised apparently at St Nicholas, Nottingham (Maid Marian Way), although younger sister b 1641 was baptised at Darlton, Notts, so it could be that the family moved out of the city centre around that time. Not sure when this Thomas b 1639 moved to Ashover, Derbyshire, about 30 miles from Darlton. Thomas was married twice, first to Ellen (no children found) who died 27 Jan 1667. He then married Mary, possibly 14 Apr 1667. Not 100% sure about this, but the dates fit. A Thomas Goodall married Margery Porter 14 Apr 1667 in Mucklestone, Staffs. No idea what Thomas Goodall of Ashover was doing there. There are no Goodall families in the Mucklestone area, so Thomas came from somewhere. No other Thomas Goodall marriages in the range 1667-1668 anywhere in the country. Mary could be a diminutive of Margery. The time between the death of Thomas's first wife Ellen in January 1667 and this marriage in April could be a problem. The death is also reported elsewhere as January 1666, but following the usual logic, 1667 seems the correct date. Thomas and Mary died within a few days of each other, in November 1707 at Ashover Dicklant (Milltown).
