Difficult to find marriage to Mary Ann Brown, I suspect there was a typing error, and the actual marriage was between Mary Ann Brown and Charles Frederick S Girdleston, which took place 13 Mar 1870. The "S" in his name was probably Smith, and the Girdleston reference was perhaps a place name.
