Leeds is a long way from Clay Cross (50 miles), but James Sadler was 34 when he married, a farmer and so quite wealthy, he paid for a license, and so perhaps the marriage was arranged. Phoebe was just 21 when she married. Could not find her burial record, she died after 1784, when her 10th child was born.
