Some confusion about this birth. The Ashover transcriptions show "James" not "Jane". It is definitely "Jane". Also, there is no trace of the birth of Harriet, also apparently born around 1835. Most likely she was called Jane Harriet? Was living with parents until 1871 census, then in 1881 census in Matlock she is still with her mother, but the census says she was married. Both census's say she was married, but no sign of a husband, and her name seems to still be Slack. (Did not marry Berrisford Jankinson in Elvaston 9 Oct 1870, this was another Harriet b1843). No trace of her afterwards in the 1891 so perhaps she died during the 1880s.
