The eldest child of Thomas Johnson and Sarah Rushton Reed. So far have not found her birth record. The Kate Johnson born in Whitwick Oct-Dec 1873 ref: 07A 101, is not the right one. Some census returns indicate she was born in Ashby, others Coleorton. She was baptised 15 Apr 1881 at Tibshelf, together with Fanny, Lillie, Joseph and Jane Annie. She married Edwin Truswell, who was living next door to the Johnson family in St Thomas's Row, 6 Jul 1891 in Tibshelf. In 1891 census, she is working as a servant in Morton (2 miles from Tibshelf). In 1901 census she is living with husband Edwin and children. In 1911 census she is shown as having 8 children, personal notes instead list her as having a total of 10 children. She certainly had another daughter, Kate (1914-1920), possibly others. In 1939 census, the data is contradictory, it gives her birth as 4 Jul 1867, which is clearly impossible, she was definitely born in 1873. Died 25 Jul 1952 in Tibshelf (see probate).
