d Jul-Sep 1907 in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire On 25 Dec 1855, Frederick Johnson marries Elizabeth Stuart née Varnon, a widow from Ripley, (ref: Oct-Dec 1855 Shardlow 7B 586). Elizabeth's young son, William, b 18 Jul 1853 at Breedon, goes to live with them. It is this William who married Ruhama Johnson!
In 1857 Frederick and Elizabeth have a child Mary Sarah Johnson in Breedon, while in 1861 they have a son Frederick in Ripley, so they must have moved to where Elizabeth was originally from.
In the 1861 census the family is still living in Ripley. Elizabeth's son William Stuart (Stewart) is erroneously registered as "son-in-law" instead of "stepson".
In the 1871 census, they are living in Staveley, Derbyshire. William (b18534) is registered as William Johnson, while in 1881 he is back to being William Stewart. The daughter Mary Sarah (b1857) is registered simply as Sarah, son Frederick (b1861) has died (d1862).
In the 1881 census, Frederick is living at Bestwood Park, Nottingham with the younger children, while Elizabeth was staying with son William Stewart and wife in Walsall.
In the 1891 census, Frederick and Elizabeth are living in Bulwell, Nottingham.
Frederick died Jan-Mar 1893 in Bulwell (ref: Basford 7b 118).
In the 1901 census, Elizabeth is living with daughter Laura and husband in Bulwell.
