A sad short life beset with continual deaths in her family. She was the youngest child of Joseph Reed and Sarah Rushton, born Jul-Sep 1872, just before her mother died in 1873 aged 48. In 1881, she was staying with her sister Jane Reed and husband Samuel Watson, until her sister died in 1889. In 1891, she was staying with sister Edith Annie Reed (b1860) and husband Robert Norton Whiston. She married Albert Burgess 29 Dec 1891 in Whitwick, and had children Clarie Elizabeth (b4Q 1893), John Alfred (b1896) and Alfred (b1898, d1903). Then her husband died Oct-Dec 1900. In 1901 she was living in Whitwick with her children, and with Joseph Henry Watson (b1877) and Samuel Watson (b1881), both sons of her recently decesased sister Jane Reed Watson (1857-1889). She died Apr-Jun 1902 at Whitwick, aged just 29. In 1911, her daughter Clarie was a servant in Huthwaite (near Sutton in Ashfield, Notts), her son John Alfred (b1896) was a servant in Whitwick, while her son Alfred (b1898) has also died (1903).
