Children with Jane Reed: Sarah Ellen (b1876), with father in 1891, then in 1901 married to Thomas Henry Bloodworth, also had a daughter Nelly Watson b1896 Joseph Henry (b1877), with father in 1891, then in 1901 a boarder in Whitwick Annie (b1879), with father in 1891, then in 1901 a servant in Coalville Samuel (b1881), with father in 1891, then in 1901 a boarder in Whitwick Kate (b1884), with father in 1891, then in 1901 a servant in Leicester Gertrude Mary (b1886), father in 1891, then in 1901 working as servant in Leicester Elizabeth (b 3 May 1889 or 2Q 1889). In 1891 with grandparents Henry Watson and Catherine Bailey. In 1901 census, now called Maud Elizabeth and living with father and second wife Emma Bail. In 1911 Elizabeth is married to Henry/Harry Swann (b 23 Nov 1882), child William Henry Swann b1910 in Loughborough. She married in 4Q 1909 at Loughborough, name given as Elizabeth. In 1939 census, she is named as Maud E. She died 1940, named as Maud E. Samuel Watson married again 20 Jun 1891 at Whitwick St George to Emma Bail (b Mar1861), who already had a child Beatrice Bail (b1886, m1904 to John Wright), who was living with Samuel and Emma in 1901. Other children with Emma: Emma (b1892, d1964 in NZ, m 1920 to William Shearer in NZ) Bernard Jesse (b2Q1894, d1975 in NZ, m1922 to Florence Andrews in NZ) Charles Harold (b1896, d1967 in NZ, m1926 to Alma Mary Edith Wilson in NZ) Ernest William (b 10 May 1899, d1984 in NZ, m1927 or 1928 in NZ) Thomas Edward (b1901, d1936 in NZ) Dorothea (b1905) Sometime after 1911, Samuel and Emma emigrated to New Zealand, where he died 1 Jun 1939 in Auckland. The fact they emigrated is first of all proved by his probate extract, which mentions his son Bernard Jesse Watson (b1894). Secondly, all the children also settled in NZ. |
