Chris was just 35 when she died in Ireland of stomach cancer. She was born at Grandma & Grandpa Goodalls' home at 40 Suffolk Ave, Chaddesden, Derby, England. She grew up in Gedling, Nottingham, before the family moved to Billericay in Essex. During this time Chris went to Art school. Then the family moved to Leicester and she met and married Bob Reid, and they lived in Quorndon, where her eldest daughter Kathryn was born. I remember her love of horses, and especially her horse "Destiny", which she kept in Quorndon after marrying Bob. The owner of the land where she kept Destiny also had some land in Ireland, and that is why Chris and Bob moved there in the mid 1970s, and where Rachel and Ellen were born.
Speaking in 2001, her daughter Kathryn said that her mother was mainly a housewife but was also involved in Art teaching in Killucan in Westmeath where they lived. She also loved gardening just like her mother Esme and grandfather Wilfred.
