Name a bit of a mystery, at birth he was registered as Thomas Herbert, then his baptism record shows him to be Thomas Albert, and he seems to have been known all his life as Albert. His marriage certificate was in the name of Albert, and all the adult census returns showed him as Albert. The 1939 census shows him again as Thomas Herbert, as does his death certificate in 1939. I have checked for births of Albert around 1860 and also deaths of Albert, to no avail. Conversely, Thomas Herbert goes off the radar all his life before appearing at the end! In the end I decided to register him in my tree as Albert. Born 18 Nov 1860 at Swannington (date from 1939 census). Married Elizabeth Else (b 31 Mar 1863) in JanMar 1881 in Ashby region, probably at Coleorton. Lived at Coleorton Moor and Coalville.
