All census returns though report that he was born at Coleorton, so his birth should have been registered at Ashby. Perhaps he was adopted? Married Elizabeth Bird Jul-Sep 1896 at Coalville. 6 children, before she died in 1908. Married Betsy Adams nee Sharp 16 Dec 1909 at Coalville. No children from that marriage.
