She was present at the death of her grandfather, Thomas Johnson, in 1940. When Emily died aged 96 in 2004, her daughter Jean apparently did not inform any of the other Johnson relatives. Emily had been placed in a nursing home called Morton Grange, in Morton, just down the road from Tibshelf. In her wedding picture, we can see: back row: left: Thomas (1884), centre: Joseph (1878) with wife Alice (wearing glasses); far right: Elizabeth (2nd wife of Thomas). middle row: centre Jim Patilla and Emily Johnson; on right Thomas (1852, then aged 87) first row: ? then a young Margaret aged 10, who died in 2014.
