Baptised 29 Aug 1824 at Shipton under Wychwood, Oxfordshire, place of residence given as Langley, small village between Leafield and Shipton, apparently the birthplace of King John. Parents Charles, a farmer, and Jane. Married Angelina Pratley 24 Mar 1849 at Oxford. In 1851 and 1861 census, living at Asthall, about 5miles from Langley. Children: Angelina b1849; Jane b1850; Charles b1852; Harriet b1853; Thomas b1855; Henry b1857 and Elizabeth b1858; Maud Emily b1861. After that, for some strange reason, they decided to use the maiden name of Angelina, that is Pratley, and from then onwards all the family, including John Wilsdon and his daughter Elizabeth, were known as Pratley. In 1871 and 1881, they were living in Swansea. Not sure what happened to him afterwards.
