Jane Wardle b 17 Sep 1699 at Sudbury, parents Joseph Wardle and Elizabeth Copestake. Her first name is not clear in the parish records, but the transcriptions clearly name her, as do the BT. Married John Smith of Scropton on 22 Feb 1723 at Derby St Werburgh. Following her husband's death 25 Sep 1726, she married William Turner on 30 Apr 1728 at Burton.
Children with William Turner: William Turner, bp 22 Nov 1729 at Burton Maria Turner, d 16 Feb 1732. Could not find her baptism. Sarah bp 14 Apr 1733 (mother registered as Susanna, but probably Jane/Joanna) Sarah d 22 Mar 1738 . There is also a incorrect entry of a birth for Sara Turner 14 Apr 1735, must be a mistake by priest when copying data. Similar error also for Anna Cook, same date. Anne d 2 Jun 1736
Her husband William died 20 Aug 1737 Jane re-married at Stapenhill 7 Jun 1738 to Edward Hickling, widower of Burton.
