Birth 18 May 1702 found in Mormon archives, Brington, Northants, fiche 6126852. Father John Lummas, a "labourer and receiver of alms". Mother Mary Goude. Married 10 Mar 1723 at Daventry to Mary Gent of Staverton. Marriage in fiche 6127200 #3, Daventry, and Bishops Transcripts 1966118/6-10 In his marriage to Mary, John Lummas/Lomos is stated as being from Whilton, a village about 2 miles from Brington. Mary is stated as being from Staverton, to the southwest of Daventry. The reason for this is unknown, it is likely she was working there. At that time, there are no records of any Gent's or Lummas's in Staverton. It was though John and Mary who established themselves in Staverton and had all their children there, so Staverton and later Hellidon became the reference place for our line for the next generations. The other Lummas's continued to live in Brington, where Mary and John had both been born. From the marriage license, we can see that John's name is spelt "Lomos" and he is "from Whilton", and that Mary is "from Staverton". We can also see that John Lomos signs his name.
