Born 15 Apr 1657, most likely at Bilbrook, Staffs, baptised 30 Apr 1657 at Tettenhall Regis, about 2 miles northwest of Wolverhampton, Staffs. His father was William Turner of Bilbrook, a carpenter, his mother was Isobel Beckett.
He married Ellenor Jugar 20 Jul 1677 at Lichfield The Close, an "extra-parocchial place", not associated with any specific parish. The name "Jugar" looks foreign, German perhaps, maybe the reason for Lichfield The Close.

Their children's baptisms indicate that their mother's name was Ann, but there is no trace anywhere of a wedding of William Turner and Ann. Checked all around the Burton area, Barton under Needwood, Hanbury, Tatenhill etc. The only possibility seems to be the marriage 20 July 1677 of William Turner and Ellenor Jugar at Lichfield The Close, 9 miles from Barton under Needwood.
