Born at Bilbrook, Codsall, Staffs in 1622, baptised (Willielmus) 6 Oct 1622 at Tettenhall, Staffs (2m S Bilbrook), father John (Johannis) Turner. Married at Shareshill, Staffs on 29 Dec 1655 to Isobel Becket of Shareshill, incredible that the priest made a mistake in recording the wedding! We have the documented wedding banns (both from parish records and bishops' transcripts), which correctly describe William of Bilbrook and Isobel of Shareshill, but neither of which give the actual wedding date. (Both have the banns being read 9, 16 and 23 Dec 1655). Then the actual wedding certificate, separately, says "William Turner of Bilbrook and Elizabeth Beckett of Shareshill were married 29 Dec 1655". Elizabeth? Another mistake due to too much Communion wine? Anyway, it was clearly Isobel not Elizabeth. 2 children: William b 15 Apr 1657 at Bilbrook John b 2 Sep 1658 at Bilbrook. Died Nov 1704 at Bilbrook, buried 12 Nov 1704 at Codsall, Staffs.
