Born at Shareshill, baptised 25 Feb 1627 at Shareshill, parents Nicholas Beckett and Elizabeth Southwicke, who married 26 Aug 1626 at Shareshill. Married at Shareshill, Staffs on 29 Dec 1655 to William Turner of Bilbrook, incredible that the priest made a mistake in recording the wedding! We have the documented wedding banns (both from parish records and bishops' transcripts), which correctly describe William of Bilbrook and Isobel of Shareshill, but neither of which give the actual wedding date. (Both have the banns being read 9, 16 and 23 Dec 1655). Then the actual wedding certificate, separately, says "William Turner of Bilbrook and Elizabeth Beckett of Shareshill were married 29 Dec 1655". Elizabeth? Another mistake due to too much Communion wine? Anyway, it was clearly Isobel not Elizabeth. 2 children: William b 15 Apr 1657 at Bilbrook John b 2 Sep 1658 at Bilbrook. Died Jun 1697 at Bilbrook, buried 9 Jun 1697 at Codsall.
