Shared note

John Whitehead was most likely born in Thorpe Salvin 9m NE of Bolsover in 1663.
According to a declaration his wife Ann made after his death in 1703, at the time of his death he was living in Oxcroft, about 2m north of Bolsover. The road from Bolsover to Thorpe Salvin goes through Oxcroft, Elmton and Whitwell, all places associated with the name Whitehead.
There is no direct proof that the John Whitehead born in Thorpe Salvin is "our" John, it is circumstantial evidence, but there are no other suitable John Whiteheads born in that period near to Oxcroft.
John married Ann around 1681, not sure where, perhaps where his wife Ann was from. Children appear to have been born in Bolsover, although we are missing the extracts for George (about 1686), Richard (about 1687) and Elizabeth (about 1693).
He died 24 July 1703 without making a will, thus his wife Ann had to make a declaration of his assets and debts. This document (I have a copy) was made 6 Oct 1703, and the original is in Lichfield Record Office.
