Shared note	No real idea of his date of birth or marriage. There are many Ancestry public trees that suggest a birth in August 1654 in Ashover, but the Ashover archives do not show this. I am more inclined to think he came from somewhere else. Some trees suggest parents of Thomas Beresford and Mary Sleigh, others John Beresford and Mary Sheldon. There does not seem to be any proof of any of this anywhere! The marriage date of 1676 is suggested as the first of his 10 children was born 4 Apr 1677. Again, no trace in Ashover marriages of this, so I presume they married elsewhere and then settled in Ashover. Buried 27 Feb 1732 at Ashover, the burial extract says he was from Celstidge (Kelstedge), just to the west of Ashover.
