Bill Dabb was a master baker, then worked at M&B Chemainus Sawmill, and was also a volunteer fireman. He was also very active in the community. He was into horticulture as his father & grandfathers before him. He was also a Water Diviner & found many deep wells. Bill was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919. He started working in the Bakery after school in 1933, and upon graduation from High School had a job to go to (1938) and in a very short time became a full fledged baker & eventually ran the business following the owner's death in 1948. He left the bakery in early 1954 and went to work for M&B Chemainus Division and stayed til 1981 when he retired. In 1943 he met Cynthia Weaver nee Goodall in the Bakery. The above was taken from notes written by Wm. Dabb and typed by Muriel Dabb Carlson. He died 12 Feb 2000 in Ladysmith. |
