Baptised 7 Jun 1808 at Wombourne (Wolverhampton), parents Francis Passmore (b5 Jul 1767; d 6 Aug1823, both at Wombourn) and Martha Lavender (b 6 May 1770 at Monmouth), (according to Skellon tree 113393742), who married 5 Sep 1803 at Wombourn. Married Mary Ann Mitchell (Mitchall, Muchall) 12 Aug 1833 at Wolverhampton St Peter. Children: Eliza b1833; d4Q1883 at Darlaston. First husband was Cornelius Turner (they married 3Q1857 at Dudley), second husband was Samuel Perry (they married 1Q1863 at Wolverhampton), a witness at wedding of Elizabeth Passmore b1849 and John Corbett. In 1841, living at Blakely, Wombourne, occupation Nailer. Died 1Q1878 at West Bromwich. His death extract gives his age as 79, possibly this is a transcription error, and it should have read 70. According to some ancestry trees, he is supposed to have emigrated to Ontario, Canada around 1871 and died 16 Feb 1897. This I believe is a mistake, and refers to another William Passmore, who was a farmer, and was born in 1813. This is supported by the 1891 census in Ontario, which gives his age as 78 (so born 1813), and the 1897 death certificate also indicates a birth around 1813, and his occupation as famer. |
