Shared note
|
An illegitimate son of Martha Jakeman, born 2Q1846, bp 10 Jan 1847 at Stowe 9 Churches. The birth record gives mother's maiden name as Irons, but the baptism record says his mother was Martha Jakeman. Irons was though Martha's mother's maiden name, so perhaps to the question "mother's maiden name?" she gave "her" mother's name, instead of repeating her own? In 1851, John Albert was living with Martha's parents Thomas and Sarah in Stowe (incorrectly registered as "son" instead of "grandson")., while Martha (already married to Reuben Lomas) was visiting another family nearby in Bilton, nr Rugby. James Irons married 11 May 1851 at Wolverton to Esther Chamberlaine (b1829 at St Neots, Hunts). |
