No proof of where she came from, most likely German, perhaps Eleanor Jäger. Married William Turner at Lichfield The Close 29 Jul 1677, an "extra-parocchial place", not associated with any specific parish. The name "Jugar" looks foreign, maybe this is the reaason for marrying in an extra-parocchial location. children (all born at Barton uder Needwood, Staffs): Their children's baptisms indicate that their mother's name was Ann, but there is no trace anywhere of a wedding of William Turner and Ann. Checked all around the Burton area, Barton under Needwood, Hanbury, Tatenhill etc. The only possibility seems to be the marriage 20 July 1677 of William Turner and Ellenor Jugar at Lichfield The Close, 9 miles from Barton under Needwood. So I presume that Ellenor became known as "Ann" after her marriage. She died 21 Feb 1685 at Yoxall, Staffs (3 m W of Barton under Needwood). |
