Difficult to be sure about his place of birth and date of birth. Being as his wife Elizabeth was born 1749, I suppose he ought to be the same age or just a bit older. Also, he ought to come from somewhere close to Cannock, where he and Elizabeth Fieldhouse married 21 Jul 1775. Pity there are hardly any fitting this criteria. In the end the best candidate seems to be John Salt bp 8 Jan 1745 at Lichfield St Mary (9 miles). Not perfect, but we just don't have any solid criteria to do this. He died 9 Feb 1777 at Aldridge, Staffs. |
