Shared note

Have not been able to find her birth, apparently 1809 in Holloway, Ashover. There are no Oldfields born in Ashover ever. There are some Oldfields in the area (Chesterfield, Cromford), but none with parent names included in Jane's subsequent children. Most likely she was a widow, but there are no Oldfield deaths in Ashover in the period. So it appears as if she was born in Holloway, moved elsewhere to marry, became a widow and then moved back to Ashover. There are lots of Janes born in Ashover in the period. There are though no marriages of a Jane to an Oldfield in the period, except for one in Bakewell in 1831, where, however, both husband and wife are from Ashford (not Ashover).
Died Feb 1882 at Union House, Bakewell, buried at Matlock St Giles 8 Feb 1882.
