Shared note

Born 21 June 1708, baptised 16 July 1708, at Ashover.
The marriage of Thomas Goodale is a good example of how to go crazy when doing Family History!
There are 3 records on the internet with 3 different locations for this marraige: Ashover, Derby St Werburgh and South Wingfield.
Although both bride and groom were from Ashover, their children were born in Ashover and they died in Ashover, I am pretty sure that for some reason they married in South Wingfield. There are no records of the marriage in the Parish Records of Ashover, while the marriage is recorded in the Parish Records of South Wingfield. The wording is: Thomas Goodale and Hannah Spooner both of p. Ashover married (in South Wingfield) 24 April 1732. Probably the reference to St Werburgh came from a Bishops Transcript.
Died 30 June 1762 at Ashover
