Shared note

Mary Ann Anderson, b1844 Manchester, according to most census returns, this agrees with her age on her marriage certificate to John Goodall. Father's name was Thomas Anderson, his occupation is given as schoolmaster on her wedding certificates to Arthur York and William Goodall, but as a Carter (a driver of horse-drawn vehicles) on her marriage to John Goodall. It has proved impossible to find her birth.
Married John Goodall 31 Aug 1862. ref Sheffield 9c 489
In 1871 census in Sheffield, place of birth given as Manchester, date 1844, children Sarah Ann aged 5 (1866), Edith Alice aged 3 (1868), John Herbert aged 1 (1870), all born in Sheffield.
Husband John Goodall died 1876.
Second marriage to Arthur York, 3 Aug 1880 at Sheffield. She is classified as a widow, her father given as Thomas (I think, could possibly be Henry) Andersen, Schoolmaster (deceased).
In 1881 census in Sheffield, birth place given as Sheffield (1844) - same as her children.
Third marriage to William Goodall, 25 Dec 1886 in Sheffield, her first husband John's brother. Her father's name given as Thomas Meggison, schoolmaster. I think this is a misunderstanding by the priest, he should have written Andersen.
In 1891 census in Derby, her daughter Mary Lambert Goodall (daughter with first husband John) is living with William and Mary in Derby. Mary Lambert is correctly described as William Goodall's niece, even though she was also his step-daughter.
In 1901 William and Mary are living in Derby, Mary's birth place given as Lancaster.
In 1911, (William died in 1910), Mary is living with her daughter Mary Lambert Barnes nee Goodall in Derby, Mary's birth place given erroneously as Sheffield.
Died Jul-Sep 1920 in Derby, rf 7b 492
