Shared note

Born 10 April 1823, baptised 25 December 1824 in Grandborough, Warwicks, parents John Lummas and Elizabeth Malam.
!n 1841, working at Monks Kirby, 8m NW Rugby, Warwicks.
At time of his marriage to Sarah Hinds Buller, 14 November 1847, in Grandborough, Richard Lomas was a Labourer in Grandborough, and could not read nor write. Neither could Sarah.
In 1851, living in Woolscott with wife Sarah, children William b1849, Emma Jane b1851, and step-daughter Ann Selina b1844. Note that Emma is incorrectly included in the census as "Tamor". Twin brother John Lomas is living next door.
In 1861, living near Nethercote Manor, near Wolfhampcote and Flecknoe, about 3-4 miles SE of Grandborough, Warwicks with wife Sarah, children William b1849, Emma b1851, John b1854 and Jesse b1857.
According to Roger S. Lomas, also researching the Lomas family, he was living in Grandborough at the time of the 1871 census (Feb 1871), but died on 31 May 1871 aged 48 after falling from a hayrick. His death notice is entered in the Rugby Advertiser, presently kept in the Rugby Public Library.
On death certificate, it gives as cause "accidental fall from hayrick, instantaneous", and that an inquest was held 2 June 1871.
