No trace of baptism, and the only burial record has been interpreted differently by different entities. The transcripts all give different dates for the burial and his age at death. My interpretation of the original burial extract leads me to believe that he died at birth and was buried immediately on 25 Sep 1829. This would explain why there is no baptism. Also, his parents only married 2 weeks previously, so it is unlikely that his brth was 4 months earlier as some claim, as otherwise there would be a trace of his baptism, either with the surname Goodall or his mother's name Slack. If you look carefully at the burial record, you can see that the date is 25 September, and the priest has written "an infant", not 4 months as some have interpreted. |
